Sounds About Right!!
AQUARIUS - Does It In The Water
> > Trustworthy. Attractive. Great kisser. One of a kind, loves being in long-term relationships. Can be clumbsy at times but tries hard. Will take on any project. Proud of themselves in whatever they do. Messy, and unorganized. Procrastinators. Great lovers, when their not sleeping. Extreme thinkers. Loves their pets usually more then their familiy. Can be VERY irritating to others when they try to explain or tell a story.. Unpredictable. Will exceed your expectations. Not a Fighter, But will Knock your lights out.

In From The Cold
Wowza! It's been freezing cold weather in our neck of the woods for a couple of weeks now and I'm missing the sanctuary of my studio! Since before Christmas I've had to bring in most of my beading materials as it was taking way too long to heat up the cabin and I was going through the wood pile very quickly. Despite the bit of space it takes up (just for now) it's quite comfy and I'm enjoying the fact that I can work any time the feeling strikes without worrying about the temperature.

Things I've Learned In 2009
1. The dirty dishes can wait-especially when I'm feeling creative! 2. When you believe in yourself, others will believe in you. 3. Smiles can change the outcome of an otherwise not so cheery day. 4. Surround yourself with positive people. 5. Live life with no regrets. 6. Hold on to a great friend-they are treasures and hard to find. 6. Tell your children and family you love them everyday. 7. Do something that scares you and you'll discover it isn't so scary after all. 8.laugh instead of cry. 9. Love yourself. 10. Be Happy!Saturday, August 22, 2009
Nature Walk
Another watercolour from the '90's copied and re-born in my art journal. I have so much fun doing this! The girl in the painting was from a photograph in a Victoria magazine and she reminded me so much of myself at that age, playing in the outdoors, searching for treasures in nature, that it compelled me to paint this picture. Having it displayed in my art journal reminds me of that young version of myself and how I need to feed that inner child .

What To Do When It Snows In May
I'm not one to sit around and fret about the weather, but ENOUGH SNOW already!!! It is hard to get inpired and think happy thoughts when it is freezing outside, but this May Long Weekend I did just that. Besides having a small family birthday party for my daughter Michaela, who turned 15 on Sunday, I got a hot fire going in my studio and had some play time !
I wasn't too sure what I wanted to create until I started playing around with all the different beads and charms. I must have been enjoying myself because I made a couple very funky and very FULL charmed necklaces. I love them and think they will be perfect for a summer night out dancing or just chill'n with the girls over lunch!
I also added some much needed love to a painting of a little girl that I did way back in 1996! Well if love consists of some cool paper ,some old tickets and text from a vintage childrens book than it was definately love I added !

That's Right...I'm 40 and It's Wonderful!!

Well today is the day. I've reached another milestone, joined a new club, climbed over that hill and did it all with a big smile on my face! I had a wonderful day and I know I'll have many more because I have such a great family and group of friends to share them with.
Part of me cannot believe that I am another decade older. (wow! Did I actually type that out loud??? ) I feel more alive creatively, spiritually and emotionally then I did when I was 25 and was chasing after 3 young children and trying to balance my cheque book!
Life is all about choices and about finding where you belong in this big crazy, beautiful world. I'm choosing to embrace my new age with a great attitude and positive thinking. I now find I have the time, which I desperately craved in my 20's and 30's, to find out who I am as an artist. A woman. A wife. A mother.
So cheers to me for reaching this point in my life where I can finally put myself first and start the adventure of finding myself again.

Treasures!
BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!! All work no play, makes Lisa very grumpy! I've been working alot and running with kids so my art has been put aside for a few days, which I am not happy about, BUT that is life right now! I did however, go on a yard sale excursion with my 2 favourite sidekicks Barb and Val and a stuffed giraffe named Grace! A teacher at our school asked that we take her and get some photos to share with her class...what a hoot! Anyway it was FREEZING COLD, but we managed to find a few bargains. My favourite find was a box filled with old glass Christmas Ornaments, which Val dropped.....she said it was by accident but I think she was jealous! Lucky for her only a couple broke WHEW! It was a great morning full of laughter and shivering! Next weekend we are going again, but if I find anything fragile....I'll carry it myself!

Technical Difficulties
Okay, so I haven't written or posted in a few days and I apologize to my frequent visitors. I'm having some internet problems and it will be taken care of this week some time. I check my blog when I'm at work (on my break of course.....) but I can't upload any pictures until I have my computer working. I have been painting in my art journal and of course making my summer jewelry so I'm trying to stay creative and inspired even though the weather is gloomy and depressing. Stay positive, think green and sunny!! Pretty soon the yard sales will be starting up and I can start my quest for more little treasures. I can't wait to head out with my coffee in hand and my 2 favourite side kicks by my side. Val and Barb!!! We have so much fun it's disgusting! Well I guess my break is almost over (wink, wink!) and I have to go! Till I get the kinks worked out I hope everyone stays creative and happy!

I just can't wait to hear those birds singing! Woke up to more cold weather but at least there was some sunshine. I'm working on my art journal and hoping to get some pics on here soon to share with everyone. I have no plans over the March break so I'm hoping I can get my ART ON! Till next time, stay creative ( and warm!)

New Artist On The Blog!
I've been so inspired lately I just had to go and make myself a blog! I am anxious to get started and have been so restless!! It must be spring fever! For those of you not familar with Northwestern Ontario, I'll just say 2 words.....SNOW and COLD!! This is a girl that is waiting (not so patiently) for spring! It will be awesome when I can use my studio again, without having to shovel, start a fire, wait for the cabin to heat up, then drag all paints back out! By that time the inspiration is gone and I just want to have a glass of wine! Or maybe (whine?) Anyhoo, I am going to pray for some more sunshine and in the mean time make some pretty little messes on my kitchen table. ( And then clean it all up because I'm a bit of a neat freak!) That's why I came up with the title "Pretty Little Messes", I thought it suited me perfectly!
