This is the perfect Christmas Tree !

We picked the best day to get outside and find our tree. The sun was shining , the temperature wasn't -35 like it had been, and it only took us 5 mins to find it! This year it was only Mark and I (and our dog, Storm) It seems that every year it gets harder to have all the kids home together for this event! It makes me sad that life is moving so quickly! Wasn't I just sitting at the table helping them spell out all the treasures that they wanted from Santa in their letters?
When my kids did get home that night I saw a little glimmer of excitement in their eyes when they saw the tree and that made me smile. Even though they weren't with us when we cut it down they would help me decorate it right?? Oh what a great night it would be! I'd put on the Christmas music, sip some egg nog, take some family photos.....
Oh well, there's always next year!

Nice post Lisa. Glad you and Mark didn't have frigid temperatures tree hunting. Ya kid's grow up so fast, doing there own thing. Funny, yet sad. But, speaking as a Grandpa, I'll enjoy many more years of that excitement.

Congrats on finding a tree in 5 minutes! I think real trees are so much better than fake ones! Merry Christmas to you and your family! Have a relaxing holiday and drink lots of egg nog:)
