"Yes Lisa, There Is A Santa Clause.... and he lives in Toronto!"

I can't even put into words how touched Mark and I were today to receive a parcel in the mail from our friends in Toronto Blaine, Julie and their daughter Olivia. What a beautiful feeling to know that someone out there cares about us and wanted to make our holiday a little brighter. Friends like you are a treasure and even if we did not receive this lovely package today, just knowing you are thinking of us and will call every Sunday to talk and catch up , means the world to us. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, you really do make our lives brighter. xox

First thing I picked up out the the parcel was this Vanity Fair Magazine with Johnny Depp on the cover...lol oh how they know me!! Next was this Moleskine art journal!!!!!! O>>>M>>>G! So excited to receive this! I've been wanting one of these for so long and it is so great that it came to me as a gift from my favourite people. I promised Blaine that I will sketch while down at the lake and only positive, inspirational art will fill it's pages. xo http://www.moleskine.com/
Finally ( the presents don't seem to end!) a beautiful journal for me to write down my thoughts in . Check it out here, I have the 2nd one from the top!! www.thegamine.com/.../stylewriting-in-style-christian-lacroix-papier/ So stunning and it's pages are whispering to me right now! Only positive, wonderful, dreams come true words will grace it's pages. What a wonderful book to write my New Year's goals in .

A card I will treasure always! Handmade by a special ,very talented, super smart and soooo cute, little girl Olivia. Thanks sweetie we LOVE it! xox

Seriously??? How flipp'n awesome is this pendant? Olivia picked it out just for me ( her Daddy told me so ) Oh yes this "puppy" is mine it is my new favourite piece :) I will be thinking of you , Livy every time I wear it.
How much fun will I have creating beautiful pieces with these lovely beads ! They are gorgeous and I don't have anything like these in my collection . Can't wait to play !
Although I've posted only my goodies, my rock star hubby is very excited about his gift too! He got a Wylde Overdrive pedal for his guitar and some guitar strings.... these boys love the guitars and I love listening to them compare "notes" and argue about amps/muscians etc.. They crack me up! BOYS! Wouldn't want it any other way . :)

Glitz and Glamour

These pieces are for the truly feminine gals who adore dressing up and adding a touch of glitz and glam to their summer fashions! Maybe it's the influence of the movie Sex In The City http://www.sexandthecitymovie.org/ that's inspiring me lately, but whatever it is it's working ! I think Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte would agree. xo
Rhinestones, glass, crystals, metal and semi precious stones (citrine) are all found in these beautifully crafted pieces.

Gifts

The guitar pick necklaces are popular and have been ordered for the young rock and roll stars and for their music teachers. I love them and I have worn them as well when feeling edgy and funky! Some of the beads are from Cuba hand made by locals and the clay beads are handmade by me. The beautiful bracelets above are gifts to Bridesmaids and Maid of Honour for an upcoming wedding in July, from the Bride. Congratulations Renee!

Guitar Hero..... Necklace?

My hubby Mark is a guitar player extraordinaire and plays in a classic rock band here in town. When he asked me to come up with something he could wear around his neck that was cool and not to showy the first thing I came up with was this little number using one of his guitar pics and some tribal beads on a black cord ---he loved it . Now his little groupies ( yes he has them!) will have something else to drool over!! lol! Anyway.... I made this back in March before we left for our trip to Toronto and decided to bring one to our friend and fellow guitar player Blaine, as a token of friendship and thank you for his hospitality . He seemed delighted to receive it and I hope he wears it for all his groupies too! I love playing around with different ideas and this was super fun to do. Wonder what I'll come up with next?

Pretty And Funky...

love. love. love. love.
romantic and pretty
Michaela's necklace with Swarofski crystal heart
pretty and petite with irredescent crystal
Real peacock feathers add glam to this pretty number
Close up of irredescent crystal
This is the necklace that Michaela will be wearing to accent her prom dress.
glass pendant touch of colour in the beads, pure fun
I love this one. The crystal is from an antique chandelier
so romantic......
With the recent announcement from my lovely, and often forgetful daughter, that she is going to her boyfriends graduation in 3 weeks..... I decided I better start creating some jewelry for other last minute grad dates. We found the most beautiful flattering dress ( and shoes) for Michaela at a new little boutique in town Suzannes Boutique all within 30 mins of finding out she was going! Power shopping at it's best! Anyhoo....I then realized she needed a pretty little necklace to go with it and thus all of these pretties came from it. Sometimes a stressful situation can turn into a good thing! I just hope she gives me more notice next time !!

Casual Cuties!

Thought I'd spend some time in my cabin/ studio yesterday and make some necklaces for a couple local stores. These pieces are for casual wear but with the right summer outfit can be the hit of the party! I love it when that happens!

Bling Bling....

Thunder and lightning very very frightning!!! So I went out into the studio and played with my beads! Yes we had a thunder storm that lasted all day and night and there is nothing else to do on a day like that now is there? So I made a few pieces, and there are some more to be pictured later so stayed tuned. :)

Fund Raising For My Toronto Trip! :)

n

I'm 2 weeks behind in my art journal but I had to get caught up with the jewelry making and replenish the rack downtown. My hubby and I are going to Toronto for the Easter weekend and I am sooooo excited! We are staying with some friends and will be having a lot of laughs, food and drinks! So before I go I thought I'd do some "fund raising" and make more necklaces ! Need some cashola for shopping! Anyway here are a few more for you and hopefully when I return on Tuesday I can concentrate on my prompts for the journal so I don't get another week behind! Happy Easter everyone!

This store is great for selection and is #1 when it comes to friendly professional service. Thanks girls for all you do and have done for me and the ladies of Dryden! check them out at http://www.ellalynn.ca/

New Beads!!

It's so cool working in a school with globetrotting co-workers!! Some people may get jealous and wish it was them going to the exotic islands and other destinations....wishing it was them slathering on the sun tan lotion or sun block .... imagining it was them drinking fruity drinks with chunks of fruit and umbrellas in fish bowl sized glasses watching the sunset on a warm beach with their hunky man . Yes I can see how some would be jealous and dust off the voo-doo dolls, but not me. No way Jose! I wish them well slip them a shopping list and take advantage!!
One of my friends went to Cuba and brought back some very cool beads for me to play with and all I need to do in exchange is make her a cool necklace with some of them. What a great deal! My other friend went to Vancouver, British Columbia and stopped at a quaint little bead shop on Granville Island called beadworks and brought home some wonderful homemade glass beads for me. Check out my photos and then check out the shop! Thanks ladies for bringing me back such great treasures and maybe next time I can sip a fruitty drink, get a sunburn and check out some shops too! xoxox www.beadworks.ca
