Fun With Isabella!

A friend of mine asked that I create a special necklace for her sister who is going to be Godmother to her sweet little girl Isabella. I took on this task with much enthusiasm because I love this little girl to bits and also because I LOVE doing personal, meaningful pieces that are one of a kind. So far I came up with 3 different designs and I am working on more. I always like to do more than one piece so there is a choice. No one knows more than the customer what it is that they are looking for and sometimes it is easier to see it and than choose.

INTRODUCING "ROXY" !!

Just when I thought I've seen all the cuteness that I could possibly see.....along comes Roxy!! My daughter Michaela BEGGED her Dad for this little fur angel and I'm sure glad she did. Roxy is only 6 weeks old, and is so playful and sweet. I only took about 75 pictures of her already. Check out "My Flickr" for some more. Milo was'nt too sure of her at first but now she is his best little buddy. This is night #3 and she is sleeping through the night and is becoming very comfortable with her new family.

Just Beachy!

Ok, dorky title but it works! Played around with some beads and beach glass and this is what I came up with! Funky and cool, it rocks! No pun intended. I'm going to get back to my art journal today and have some creative release, it's a great way to get myself warmed up before a project or painting. It gets the creative juices flowing!

HAPPY EASTER!!!!

Today was a busy day but a fun day! Our local Sheep Farm had their annual "Open House" for Easter weekend and my daughter's grade 8 class had a fundraiser to raise $ for this years Toronto trip. We sold food and baking and had a blast doing it. It was a gorgeous day to be out tromping through the barns and seeing all the baby sheep! They also have peacocks, swans, goats, minature donkeys, alpecas, ostrich, rabbits, and many others. This family business has been a great attraction for many years and it never gets old! It was hard tearing myself away from those cuddly little lambs but I did it!

I'm working with a friend of mine on a banner for my site ! Kinda of exciting for me as I know nothing about this sort of thing ( Thanks Al !!) After Easter festivities are over I am going to get super busy and get my jewelry made and start organizing that studio of mine. The snow is finally starting to melt!! I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter and finds the time to stop and reflect on all that is special in our lives. Till next time stay creative!

Art Journal - thinking of gardening!

It's been a rough few days without my old girl Duchess but I'm feeling a little better about the whole situation as the days go by. It definately takes time for the guilt trip to fade, even though I knew it was for the best. All those little annoying things she did I miss like crazy! Her thunderous snoring, her silly tap dancing on the wood floors when she needed to go outside, her sleeping in my laundry basket, and her eating all the cat food so Milo would'nt get something better than her! There will only be one Duchess that is for certain!

ANYWAY..........

Spring is just around the corner, and I am scanning my gardening books and imagining the possibilities in the new gardens I started in the fall. I just can't wait to get outside and play in the dirt!! Another month or so the greenhouses will be springing to life and I'm like a kid in a candy store! Can't wait, so until then I will paint , scribble and play in my art journal to keep the creative juices flowing. I've been playing around with my beads and jewelry making as well since beach season is around the corner. I love summer jewelry and all it's cheery colours!

Til next time stay creative!

In Memory Of Duchess 1992-2008

Today I had to make a very hard decision. I had to put my dog Duchess to sleep after 16 years of companionship. We will all miss her very much but I know that my son Cameron will miss her more, as they grew up together and he took on the responsibility of walking her and caring for her. Having a pet like Duchess was alot of fun and at times alot of work. She was the 2nd oldest of all our pets, Mookie (our cat ) being the oldest. She was also put down 3 years ago at the age of 15 after battling Diabetes. I could'nt imagine my life without either of these furry friends as they both brought so much love and laughter into our lives. So as Cameron took Duchess for one last walk today I knew that I had to let her go and I pray she thought as much of us , as we did of her.

Another Art Journal Page!

I am Loving my art journal! I feel like a little kid with a new box of crayons!! It's all about having fun and exploring right now, but I promise to get serious one day and have something with a bit more meaning soon. I just don't feel like putting away my "crayons" right now!

Art journal page

I was obviously thinking about spring and all of the beauty nature provides. I can't wait to be outside and breathe in all the fresh air !

Art Journal Kinda Day

It's going to be a Bright, Sun Shiny Day!!! Got my paints out and I'm going to play around in my art journal today. This art journal is great because it keeps me thinking creatively and it's alot of fun. I'm not concentrating on perfection just expression! It's a bit of art therapy without the shrink! Lord knows I could use some therapy......
I'd love to hear any commments from fellow bloggers so feel free to give advice or just say HI.

I'm working on my art journal and hoping to get some pics on here soon to share with everyone. I have no plans over the March break so I'm hoping I can get my ART ON! Till next time, stay creative ( and warm!)

Tired Of Shovelling!

This is my studio and as you can see it is SNOWING again! What's a girl to do?? My sunroom is getting a little crowded with all my art supplies and the clean freak is in conflict with the artist. I guess I'm a bit scitzo! Let's hope it all melts as fast as it came so I can get back into my happy place and have some fun.

New Artist On The Blog!

I've been so inspired lately I just had to go and make myself a blog! I am anxious to get started and have been so restless!! It must be spring fever! For those of you not familar with Northwestern Ontario, I'll just say 2 words.....SNOW and COLD!! This is a girl that is waiting (not so patiently) for spring! It will be awesome when I can use my studio again, without having to shovel, start a fire, wait for the cabin to heat up, then drag all paints back out! By that time the inspiration is gone and I just want to have a glass of wine! Or maybe (whine?) Anyhoo, I am going to pray for some more sunshine and in the mean time make some pretty little messes on my kitchen table. ( And then clean it all up because I'm a bit of a neat freak!) That's why I came up with the title "Pretty Little Messes", I thought it suited me perfectly!
